Sunday Recap

Oh man! I can hardly stand it. Yesterday was so fabulous. We had a great day of giving at Waters Edge Church to fund our 3rd campus in Newport News! We concluded our series UNSTOPPABLE with our 9th Birthday. Happy Birthday Waters Edge! I was just thinking this week that Waters Edge is very different than what it was 9 years ago and yet very much the same. I can remember sitting down having lunch with a family that wanted to help us start Waters Edge and they asked this question, "what do you want to look like 5-10 years down the road." Stuart very definitively responded, "I want to look like we do now." And, for the most part we do. Our buildings may be different and the number of people may be different. However, still today EVERYTHING that we do, we do so that people that are far from God will come to know Him. Momentous days like today remind me of just how proud I am of my husband for being so laser focused with the vision that God has given him. He is by far the best leader that I know. He carries a spiritual weight of Waters Edge that is indescribable. When I look at how God continues to use him,UNSTOPPABLE certainly comes to mind!
So, I know that you are all waiting on pins and needles to find out just how much money we raised. I sort of have the inside scoop. And the total is...................................................................................................
.....................................................................
.....................................................................................
.....................................................................
Just kidding! I really have no clue! But, I am anxiously awaiting to see the fruit of what God has done in the hearts of His people too!

God has built greatness into you so that He might use you to build something great!

Sunday Recap

Today was a day of baseball and church. I love days like today. I love watching my son play baseball. I love his coaches, his team and the parents. Everyone has such a good attitude, which makes it so much fun! The 11U Renegades played 2 games and they won both of them. That now makes them 4-0. Go Renegades!

As much as I love going to watch baseball, I love going to my church more! Stuart tweeted on Saturday, "I am ready to preach right NOW! I am FIRED UP and ready for CHURCH!". He wasn't lying. He really brought it. I just love how he preaches about money. It is never based on the churches need or anything like that, but it is based on how giving can change your relationship with God and in turn impact others through the church. So true, right?

Yesterday Stu repeated this quote, "God has built greatness into you so that he might use you to build something great!" I know that Stuart and I will be praying this week about how much God would have us to give to the UNSTOPPABLE campaign. I am so grateful that God has built something great in me and I can't wait to see how He is going to use me to build something great. POWERFUL!

Sunday Recap

Yesterday, Waters Edge Church was amazing. First of all, I had the priveledge of subbing in for our wonderful Preschoolers and Kids Manager, Carlyn Menser while she was on vacation. It definitely gave me a greater appreciation of all the work that goes into a Sunday morning. Our WEC staff members work so hard and WEC is so blessed to have the greatest church staff on the planet!! I also have to give a shout out to the most amazing volunteers. Sometimes I have to pinch myself because I can't believe that I get to be apart of such an amazing movement of God alongside such amazing people. Beyond blessed!

We continued with the series UNSTOPPABLE yesterday as well. It was so good, I wrote so many notes that my hand was dog tired after the service! I thought that this week I would give you the highlights from our study of 2 Kings 4:1-8:

*It all begins with bringing it to God.
*We get focused on our pain and we miss the purpose it has in our lives.
*This is the opportunity God has given us to seek Him more diligently.
*God always starts with "what you got!"
*Sometimes it is the exceptions that keep you from the blessing.
*We need a catalyst that propels us to shut the door...to greed, selfishness, etc.
*The dollar amount is not what matters. Go home, shut the door, and experience God in a way you never have before.
*The win is that we go home and seek God! ---I love this!!
*God, what do I have that I haven't given to you?
*Faith is followed by action.
*Prepare your jars for the blessing of God.
*We'll give so that they can live!
*Stop stopping up the presence and blessing of God.

I'll tell you, there is a lot to think about here! This week, I am going to ask God, what do I have that I haven't given to you? Not only do I plan on seeking God for this answer, but I plan on asking those that I trust to help speak truth into my life. I know that it may not be what I want to hear, but I definitely don't want to "stop up' the presence and blessing of God in my life! How about you? What do you have, that you haven't given to Him?

Sunday Recap

This Sunday we continued with our series UNSTOPPABLE. At WEC, we had an incredible day! Stuart entitled his sermon "Here's Your Sign". Ha! I like that! He talked about three things that hinder us from being UNSTOPPABLE. 1. Distractions 2. Self 3. Opposition.

God really spoke to me about allowing distractions to get in the way and keep me from being UNSTOPPABLE from the mission that God has set before me. I am the type of person that gets distracted in the little things and the big things. I may go into my bedroom to vacuum, but before you know it I am organizing drawers and cabinets. I get distracted from my mission! I am the type of person that runs situations and scenarios through my mind a thousand times which cause me to be distracted! Stuart said, "Distractions are a plot to harm us." I am determined this week to be UNSTOPPABLE, I want to be focused on the mission God has set before me!

We also had baptisms all day at WEC yesterday. It is so amazing to see lives being changed. And, Stuart announced the location of our 3rd Campus in Newport News. You really can't get any better than that. I really don't know how we fit all of than into a 55 minute service!

On a side note, Brayden's travel ball team played two games yesterday and we won both of them. This was huge because one of the teams we have played many times before and never won against them. GO RENEGADES!
